HEY THERE!☺️
I am Rita Kassabian
I am a UX/UI designer, bringing a strong foundation in research and analysis to my new path in user experience design. With over 10 years of experience in the library field, specializing in cataloging and research, and a master's degree in Information Sciences, I bring a strong foundation in research and analysis to my new path in user experience design. Although I'm just beginning my journey in UXD, I'm eager to combine my research skills with design thinking to create impactful, user-centered solutions. Please get in touch with me through the following account if you'd like to connect. I'd love to hear from you!
Education
I recently graduated with a graduate certificate in user experience design from Fanshawe College. My studies focused on user-centered design, research, and understanding user needs. Through tools like Miro and Figma, I developed skills in creating personas, empathy maps, journey maps, and applying design fundamentals such as color theory and typography.
UX/UI Designer Winner – CICan Hackathon 2025
- Designed and implemented accessibility-first UX/UI improvements for an educational tool.
- Enhanced icon clarity and color contrast, as well as changed images to improve accessibility and inclusivity.
- Improved filtering options and navigation flow to reduce cognitive load.
- Streamline the experience to minimize cognitive load, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive user flow.I hold a master's degree in Information Studies, specializing in information management. For my thesis, I designed a user-friendly mobile app for library users, including students and researchers. Through surveys and usability tests on library websites, I identified key features to improve user experience. The final app streamlines resource access and personalizes interactions, highlighting my ability to integrate technology with information management.
I have a bachelor's degree in Information Studies, which gave me a solid background in information sciences and research methods. This education helped me develop critical thinking and analytical skills to address complex information systems and user needs effectively.
